When I was young I remember sitting in my aunt's bathroom, surrounded by mirrors, watching her apply her makeup and set her hair in curlers, thinking it was one of the most magical things I had ever seen. My parents put me in private art classes at the age of 4, seeing my creative spirit and trying to encourage it, and I think back to those days watching my aunt in the mirror and realizing that my canvas might possibly be the people around me.
Growing up in the south my path didn't take me directly to where I am today. I made my way through high school (not taking the vocational classes to do hair), on to college for a business degree (because art was too risky a living), and in my final semester of college an opportunity fell on my plate: apprenticing to become a hair stylist. I took the position, graduated college, and never looked back.
I've always been an education junkie and switching career paths to hair has been no different. I've been able to combine my love of travel, hair, and learning into many opportunities to explore the country and learn from some of the best in our industry. My 10+ years in the industry have made me realize that I've always wanted to create beautiful works of art and being able to do that for my clients, making them feel truly beautiful, is really what i'm meant to be doing.
I pride myself on all my background education in helping create the perfect client visit. For me, true success is having my clients feel and enjoy my personal brand of hospitality while having a few moments away from their busy life. If you're someone that enjoys making a real connection with your stylist, getting the hair you've always dreamed of that fits your lifestyle, and enjoying a few laughs then you're the perfect client for me, lets connect.
(Did I mention I give the best shampoo and scalp massages?)
